Economic Love Camp
office for urban research is an office that experiments on different possibilities on research field, navigates (in)visible relations and actions in the city of living environment.
Economic Love Camp, the first project of office for urban research, is about the condition of our living environment in the city, what kind of figure it is in, the research of how the people loves each other and lives together. Its process and result will be revealed through two phases and locations in this spring and coming fall.

Urban story in May – Stone and Flesh
There is a piece of meat in the freezer. The artist takes out the meat for dinner. The thawed meat’s surface becomes slightly moist. The artist swipes away the moist with its finger. The meat is hard. It’s hard as a rock. No, it is a rock. The rock was the one the artist has picked up at riverside in a city to research about its landscape.
The thought of Richard Sennett’s in his book, Flesh and Stone, flashes through the artist’s mind which Sennett criticized about the modern city losing senses about feeling pain and compassion while going through an experience in urban space. It is surely a burden to Sennett himself the fact that the Christian view on the world and the appropriateness of ethic is coming to conclusion even though he is discontinuously reading many cities in angle of western society. But the stone in the city will come to life the moment the artist decides not to believe everything just as told and continues to conceive differently and misinterpret the gap of the reality.
*The story on ‘economic love and standardized downward landscape’ will be told in June.
